hang on, wait a second
So, judging by #1, I thought this article might have been a spoof-type thing to bring attention to male privilege…but it’s not, the author of the article is 100% serious. He obviously pulled #1 completely out of left field, but here are some of the other ones if you’re not already completely (and rightfully) outraged.
6. Female privilege is being able to decide not to have a child
First of all, if two people want to have a baby together, the final decision should go to the potential mother, since she is the one who is going to be pregnant and actually have the baby, like in what world would that not be the woman’s decision? Second, men decide whether they want to have children all the time. Lots of men walk out on women because they are pregnant, or after they have had a child because they decide they don’t want the responsibility of a child. Thirdly, women are told that children are an ultimate goal. If a teenage girl tells an adult they don’t want kids, the adult will almost always respond with some variation on “you’ll change your mind when you get older.” So no, deciding whether or not a woman wants to have kids is not always up to her, even though it should be.
9. Female privilege is knowing that people would take it as a gravely serious issue if someone raped you. Female privilege is being able to laugh at a “prison rape” joke.
There are so many examples of women being silenced when they go to police saying that they are raped. Here are some examples and statistics:

13. Female privilege is not having to take your career seriously because you can depend on marrying someone who makes more money than you do. Female privilege is being able to be a “stay at home mom” and not seem like a loser.
Wow, the author of this article finally got something right! Thanks to the wage gap, a woman can depend on marrying a man who makes more than she does, even if they have the exact same job! He’s also insinuating that women don’t want to take work seriously, because what more could a woman want than getting to stay home and take care of the kids, right?
Last one because I’m starting to get really angry:
18. Female privilege is believing that sexism only applies to women
Feminism is the belief in and the movement towards equality (social, economic, etc.) of the sexes. Feminists know that sexism is not exclusively a women’s issue. Men are also hurt by gender stereotypes. The idea that women are weak means that men have to be strong, and if a man is not strong, he is considered not enough of a man. That is not what feminism is about, and FEMALE PRIVILEGE DOES NOT EXIST TO CLAIM THAT IT IS.
TL;DR: The author of this article is serious, and all of what he says is major bullshit.
